Patrick Palgrave-Moore is a retired genealogist. He founded the Norfolk Family History Society (1968), the Cambridgeshire Family History Society (1976) and, jointly, the Norfolk Federation of Historical and Archaeological Societies (1986). He a former chairman of the Federation of Family History Societies and a former editor of the National Index of Parish Registers. Apart from numerous published indexes, pedigrees and family histories, his other published works include: The Mayors and Lord Mayors of Norwich 1836-1974; How to Locate and Use Manorial Records; Understanding the History and Location of Nonconformity Records. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a Fellow of the Society of Genealogists. He has served on the council of the record society since 1987 and is currently transcribing all Norfolk marriages from 1538 to 1812, publishing regionally as a bride and groom combined index.
