Trustees Annual Report and Financial Statements

The Norfolk Record Society is a registered charity dedicated to preserving and promoting the documentary heritage of Norfolk. Since 1930, it has published scholarly editions of important historical documents relating to the county, making these records accessible to researchers, students, and the wider public.

As a learned society and charity, the Norfolk Record Society carries out a range of activities that deliver public benefit. These include the annual publication of carefully edited historical texts, the support of historical research, the maintenance of archival partnerships, and the promotion of interest in Norfolk’s rich documentary past.

The Society is governed by a Council of Trustees, who are responsible for overseeing its work and ensuring compliance with charity law. Each year, the Council prepares a Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements. These outline the Society’s activities in relation to its charitable objectives, explain how its income is generated and spent, highlight the main risks it faces, and set out its future plans.
